Just yesterday, Ashley ‘AJ’ Jewell, the ex-fiance of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, was bludgeoned to death outside of “The Body Tap Club” in Atlanta, GA. According to Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows:
“It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head. We have developed a person of interest and we’ve made contact with him to question him about the incident.”
After the incident, Jewell was taken to Piedmont Hospital where he later died.
Kandi has spoken a little bit about the incident to her fans via her Twitter page, saying:
Someone told me that violence was a part of the Black culture. I hated the comment but I’m starting to believe it. Black on Black crime is the #1 cause of Black deaths. NOT AIDS. NOT Cancer. NOT Heart Disease. But VIOLENCE!!! And while many of us move on towards a higher education and a better life, many more of us stay behind and kill each other. This should no longer be the norm. We’ve got to do better.
After hearing about Derrion Albert and how his life was so senselessly taken from him, rapper Nas took the time to write an open letter to those who feel the need to fight senseless battles with senseless reasoning.
Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool. Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling , that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But….
We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, fila’s , and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say she say”!!!!! “I’m from This block or I’m from that block”, or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay”!!!
I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathin. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. But let’s think. What r we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.
I love Amerie, I really do. I have both of her albums and she is one of my personal style stars. But I don’t know how I’m feeling about her new video to “Heard Em All.” It’s a little too over the top for me as far as Amerie is concerned. I actually miss the sweet “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” and sensual “Touch” sides of Amerie. But this fake, fighing/gangster gothic thing she has going on here is NOT doing anything at all. I feel like she just stole one of Nicole Scherzinger left over tracks and tried to pass it off as her own. Maybe this is a new direction that everyone but me will love. But to be quite honest, I doubt that will be the case.
One thing I can’t deny is Amerie’s beauty. Take a look at the artwork from her new project In Love & War. This album will actually be her third solo project and her first project while on the Def Jam label. This may explain the new direction of her image. In Love & War will hit stores on November 3rd.
I guess I should be reporting about Khloe Kardashian’s and Lamar Odom’s wedding. But I really don’t feel like it. I mean, marrying a guy after dating him for only a month doesn’t seem too smart to me. The two should instead be selecting vacation spots, not engagement rings. They should be exchanging funny stories, not vows. But I guess marriage doesn’t really mean anything anyway. These days, folks get married in June and divorced by July. The wedding is just another reason to throw a party and get drunk…for free.
Instead, I would rather report about LaLa Vasquez. I didn’t know she had such a DONKEY! I mean, where did that butt come from? Carmelo must really be putting it in on her. Good for them (especially her). That’s how married couples should play. Hopefully I’ll find a man to give me one of those one day.
And to all those who want to see a few wedding pictures, take a peek after the cut.
Well my vacation is finally over (sniffle…tear) but the memories of my weekend will always be with me.
When my good friend Kelwin invited me to join him for a mini vaca, I couldn’t resist the opportunity. Even though I’d be away from my computer for a few days, I knew I needed the chance to relax and recharge. Every day was amazing. The beach, the water, the palm tree lined highways…everything that Miami had made Miami beautiful. And Kelwin treated me like a Queen each and every day, which made the vacation even better than expected. We spent much of our time together on Ocean Drive, eating at the Cordozo, The Tides, and a few other places. But we also took a trip to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ft. Lauderdale. That’s where my midnight fashion show was held. The show was sponsored by Cache (a really nice womens clothing line that makes their clothes sexy yet comfortable) and held in club Passions (one of the clubs in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino venue). Just before the show, we tried our luck at a few slot machines, but it only took us $10 to figure out that gambling wasn’t for us. But we still had fun losing. LOL.
Though I was only in the city for a couple of days, I felt like it had become my new home. To me, Miami is the city of beautiful people and beautiful things- the place for me to be. If all things go as planned, I may be looking for apartments there pretty soon! LOL.
If you want to see a few more pics, take a look after the cut.
Ok. So don’t get mad at me, but I’m in MIAMI, BABY!!!!! Yup, I am in the land of beautiful people and finer things. Ahhh, this feels like home. LOL.
But really, Im here for a Cache fashion show and a photoshoot for the site, so it’s not all fun and games. Since I’ll be pretty busy modeling (and relaxing), I won’t be blogging that much. However, you can always follow me on Twitter. I will definitely be there with the latest updates on everything that’s anything. TRUST!
I have to give it to Michelle Williams (former Destiny’s Child member) for looking good in these pictures. Because most of the time, she looks like a runaway slave in Prada…NOT a good look. But here, she looks fab in a recent photoshoot for the British magazine ‘Random.’ The mag is expected to hit stands this October and I’ll be sure to pick up a copy. Michelle finally looks good, so she needs all the support she can get. I’m sorry. You can call me a hate, but that’s just how I feel.
I snatched the pics from B.Scott over at lovebscott.com. Thanks hun!
After watching this video, I came to the conclusion that all things are possible for me. I always wanted to be a singer, but folks tell me that I can’t really sing. Well, now I’ll say to them: “If Rihanna can do it, so can I!”
This video should have stayed in the family vault. It’s NOT a good look.
You’ll find some crazy things on Youtube. But this right here has to be one of the craziest…and funniest.
Comedian Affion Crocket (From Nick Cannon Presents: Wild n’ Out) really goes in on Christ Brown’s interview with Larry King and the ‘Run This Town’ Video, making fun of Chris’s lack of memory and Rihanna’s lack of compassion for the situation. (But should she really have any?) Jay-Z and Kanye West (both played by Crocket) also makes appearances in the vid, but nothing beats Rihanna’s final line “Do you remember what you did to my face, Chris? I don’t want no apology.” SMACK!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
P.S. I really love the Kanye West dance. That’s bananas.
I don’t know if this is true, but it sure has my alarms going off. Recently, Beyonce gave an interview to TO& OWO TV, a popular magazine in Poland. (don’t ask me what that means). In it, she had this to say:
Q:Since we’re on the subject of children, your husband Jay-z said recently: “Most of the people dream of having children, I am no exception.” Are you both planning, to start a family soon?
Beyonce: Someday, when the time is right but not in the near future.
What You Think?
